Torfinn K Opedal
Torfinn Katla Opedal is visiting Boost Camp and will help us both days with something we think will be very inspiring and an "eye opener" for most people.
Anyone who has trained taekwon-do, whether for a few weeks as a white belt or for several years with higher degrees, has experienced along the way the feeling of a ridiculous frustration at how complicated it is with all the details that must be learned in order to perform the techniques correctly. Arms and legs must be moved with precision and power, with simultaneity, with balance, they must be crossed (was it on the upper side or the lower side??) motions with slides, with jumps, with stamping, fast motion, slow motion... There is a lot to keep in mind to get it right and good enough, and at times it can be tempting to just give up!!
Imagine if you were also blind... and then imagine if you were also in a wheelchair! One can only gape at the thought of how demanding and "impossible" that would be.
Well, for Torfinn this is not impossible, it is reality.
Torfinn is blind and in a wheelchair! But first and foremost he is an incredibly nice guy who lives and breathes for taekwon-do. The story of Torfinn is absolutely incredible, but in short he is today a 3rd Dan black belt in Taekwon-do. It's way beyond impressive to say the least! That's why we're really looking forward to his sessions during Boost Camp, which will be for both children and adults, and parents.
Taekwon-do is for everyone, we want to shine a greater light on that and we couldn't have found a better person to help us with this, than Torfinn.
Come visit him at Boost Camp. Enjoy!
